The Parnell Model

The Parnell model was my first ever “kitless pen”. This Pen was designed with the help of its namesake John Parnell. John is a founding member of the London Ontario Fountain Pen Club. The London Pen Club has existed for over 25 years. My father and I used to frequent William Coffee Pub on Wonderland and always saw the club meetings going on. I was a the beginning of my Kitless journey and actually introduced myself and asked if they knew where I could find parts. The rest they say is history. I started to attend meetings and soak up the incredible information they so willingly shared about their passion for pens.

Not long after joining the club I lost my father and was inspired to really chase my dream of building a fountain pen company. An analogue tool in a digital age. I did get a lot of questions about “who uses pens anymore?” To my surprise and delight, my father and the local club were not unique. The fountain pen community is alive and well and spans generations.

I can’t thank the London Pen Club enough. There willingness to share and test my creations and provide feedback allowed me to be successful with my first production model.
